Council aims to facilitate democratic reform of the defense and security sector in Georgia and support Georgia’s integration into Euro-Athlantic structures. Particularly, on the current step the Council develops its activities in the two following directions:
Meetings and Conferences – the Council tries to facilitate dialogue of the civilian organizations with the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, as well as with other state agencies, by means of regular meetings and conferences on the current and strategic issues of defense and security development (click Main Menu > Council Meetings to find the info about the conducted meetings);
Expert Works - on request of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, as well as on request of other state agencies, the Council is preparing its comments covering various official documents what helps the official agencies in affective development of country’s defense and security policy, defense and security strategy etc. Besides, the Council tries to elaborate its own analysis on various spheres of defense and security sector reform like defense legislation, human rights of military servants, decision making mechanisms etc. which could be useful not only for the official structures but also for the civilian organisations interested in defense and security issues (click Main Menu > Council Documents to find the council reports).
